Bill Avery of 72 Degrees

Designing and Selling High Velocity Duct Systems with Great Success
72 Degrees, located in Southern Connecticut, has 9 employees and operates 4 trucks. 72 Degrees sells and services a wide range of heating and cooling equipment, including Lennox and Unico, and is unique in the HVAC market in that the company focuses almost exclusively on the design and sale of Unico high velocity systems.

Bill Avery, owner of 72 Degrees Company, has been a Right Suite user since 1998. Bill's business is 100% residential, with a large proportion of his business being Unico high velocity systems, primarily installed in new construction. Bill uses Right Suite Residential daily and estimates he designs and quotes on two to three hundred Unico systems a year.

Bill loves Right-Draw especially and comments "I don't really want to learn how to use CAD... Right-Draw and Right-Suite are easy to use once you get the hang of them... At this point I really don't think I would win my proposals without Right-Suite... I use Right-Draw, Right-D and HV-Duct for everything I do... I recently had a very large job quote involving 8 zones and 8 separate Unico air handlers in a 12,000 square foot home... I was able to win the job by working with the owner and the builder on changes to the overall design by showing zones in different colors and by showing zone by zone what the Unico systems would look like in printed reports. Our final presentation was color coded zone by zone... we impressed them..we got the job. This was a very large job and with Right-Suite's reports I was able to consistently show what the total system would look like... I was really impressed with the fact that Right-Suite handled that many zones and systems with no problem at all."

Bill also uses Right-Draw to draw out chiller and gas line designs as separate layers to accompany his duct designs. While these are not calculating pipe designs (as would be with Right-Suite's duct designs), Bill gives these layouts to his employees with notations on the size and type of lines: These reports, along with duct design reports are then used for proposals and installation...

In addition to using Right-Suite reports for his proposals presented to architects, builders and homeowners, Bill also submits his drawings and reports completed in Right-Suite to local building inspectors in place of architectural drawings and finds that these reports are accepted. Bill has invested in three Wrightsoft trainings, noting that he learns new tips and techniques every time he comes.

On what he plans to do next using Right-Suite, Bill comments: "I'm adding on the 2-Line feature right now, and then I'll be working on incorporating any spreadsheets of parts and equipment I have into Right-Suite for custom take-offs... In addition I'm really interested in that new Proposal product since right now I use a combination of Right-Suite and some other software products to prepare my proposals... I'd rather do it all at once in Right-Suite. I'm also finally figuring out how to import CAD drawings and add my designs onto them... I have a number of architects who seem to want this feature, so I need to get that started."
